Pitched Perfectly.

I just wanted to say how impressed we all were with Ryan's kickboxing sessions. He led sessions for half a term here in Jersey, at Mont a L'Abbe School. The students and staff all thought he was excellent. The sessions were hard work but fun, and he pitched them perfectly for our special needs students.

Thrilled to Have Found This Club.

My 12 year old son has been attending the Samurai Kickboxing club for some months in his school. He does this during lunchtime & he’s very happy with this arrangement. He loves the format of the lessons & has progressed really well. We previously tried another local club which wasn’t a good fit, so we’re so thrilled to have found this club. We’ve bought merchandise, which was also good quality.

My son has had huge confidence issues. He is happy in his safe space but stepping out into a new environment causes him to be anxious & get very upset. He started at a new school in September. I decided to enrol him in some after school activities, one of which was Samurai kickboxing. He was in tears going into school that day, begging me to cancel. Later that day when I collected him, he was a different child - the best club ever Mummy & so excited with his new white belt! 10 sessions on, he loves his classes. He has told me he is proud of himself & has even slept with his new Red Stripe belt! My gratitude to the Instructors is profound. My little 9 year old has so much more confidence than before. Heartfelt thanks to you all.

Wonderful Teacher & Treasure to Our School.

I’d firstly like to thank Alex for being such a wonderful teacher & a treasure to our school. He has been teaching my daughter for a year now & she has thrived under his leadership & teachings. He is probably one of the best teachers we have come across & many of the parents wish he actually taught in the school. He brings skills & discipline to the class which not only teaches the art of kickboxing but also life skills. We would never attend late to class or disheveled because we have the utmost respect for him. He is firm & disciplined but the kids still love him & they know their boundaries. That is a very unique & difficult technique to master - he’s done it wonderfully. He has made the classes knowledgeable & fun, even for the parents to watch & for that we are grateful. He has at least 3 or 4 separate belts in his class but he manages all of them equally & effortlessly. None of the children or parents feel like they are neglected. All the parents have nothing but positive things to say about Alex. We have already booked September's classes & I think many parents want their children to join the Kickboxing classes because of him. He is an asset to your company.

Consummate Professionals.

Chickerell Primary Academy have been lucky enough to work with Dorset Samurai Kickboxing for a while now & we've been amazed at the level of service we’ve had. The staff, ably led by Amanda, have been the consummate professionals, reliable & punctual at all times. The children have absolutely loved the weekly sessions. Some of our most vulnerable children have been going & we have seen a noticeable difference in the way they are now managing themselves in class. One child who was at risk of exclusion has now completely turned himself around & is now, in his teacher’s words, ‘exemplary’. The positivity of the sessions, the way the children are taught & led is first class & we’ll definitely be using them again next year.

Laughter & Positivity.

My daughter has been attending kickboxing classes for a couple of years now. She was very uncertain to start with however, Instructors Alex & Mike managed to overcome her resistance. Classes with Mike are fun, says my daughter! There is a lot of laughter & positivity - she always comes out with a smile on her face. Mike knows how to teach kickboxing with the correct technique whilst loaded with fun. He can hold the attention of the children & get them to cooperate even during some challenging tasks. Classes are very positive - I would highly recommend them!

Full of Excitement.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for this week's camp. It was my children's first kickboxing camp and they came home full of excitement & eager to show me their new moves. They are very excited for the next one!

Strong, Confident Young Females.

My girls started Samurai Kickboxing just over a year ago, I couldn't have imagined what a massive part of their lives it would become. My two quiet, shy & lacking self-confidence girls, are transformed into strong, confident young females with awesome kickboxing skills! This is down to the fantastic coaching by Amanda, Luca & Adam who expertly combine fun games with skillful technique, creating a safe environment for them to develop & practice their newly found skills. This is now their favourite sport, largely down to the positive influences of the coaches who are fantastic role models for the girls. Both have aspirations of being Black Belts one day.

Bursting With Pride.

Both my children thoroughly enjoyed it. Our daughter was bursting with pride taking her medals in to school this morning to show everyone! Kickboxing has helped improve my son's confidence so much & it was great seeing him chat to the Instructors & other students at the event - something he wouldn’t have done twelve months ago.

Stood Up For Herself.

My daughter stood up for herself at school for the 1st time. Her friend walks all over her, isolates her & bosses her around but she said she wouldn't put up with it anymore! She now has the confidence & self-esteem to know she deserves better. She says it's the Kickboxing making her brave.

Balance, Coordination, Focus & Discipline.

Our daughter has benefited hugely from her kickboxing classes. In the 2 years she has attended them, her balance, coordination, focus & discipline have all improved & her determination to push herself to the next level has been impressive to watch. Having a great teacher who makes the classes fun helps - our daughter has loved being taught by Amanda. Would highly recommend for girls & boys. Thanks again for all the enjoyment & inspiring instruction you've given.

Fun & Rewarding Camp.

A very well organised camp with a warm welcome from the Instructors. Both my boys aged 7 & 11 loved making new friends & learnt lots of new skills. It certainly got them off their computer gaming & burnt off their energy! Thank you for such a fun & rewarding camp.

More Than Just Kickboxing.

My daughter has come on leaps & bounds since starting Kickboxing & it’s a testament to you & Luca & how incredible you are, that she is starting to take pride in her achievements. This does not come naturally to her as she is by nature very shy & self deprecating. She is also really enjoying the fitness side (again this does not come naturally to her) & enjoys showing me how strong and accurate her moves are! Thank you for everything you are doing for these children - it encompasses so much more than just Kickboxing; it’s instilling a self belief, which is invaluable.

Self Discipline.

Since my 6 year old son has been attending your classes, he has flourished. He has so much more confidence in himself, his listening & general attention span has improved so much. He has also developed a strong sense of self discipline. I cannot recommend the Kickboxing classes enough. I wanted to say a massive thank you for all the time & effort you put into making the classes fun & full of learning.

Awesome Tournament.

Thanks for an awesome Tournament today! Both my daughters enjoyed it & came away with medals. It was lovely to see the eldest proudly show off her skills & care so much about doing well, she must have a great Instructor! The youngest has now got her eyes on the 2 top trophies for next year!

What a Difference.

My son joined Samurai 6 weeks ago & what a difference already - so focused on the next week, practicing & proud of how he looks in his kit (even learnt the belt knot off YouTube!). Friendly Instructors & great lessons. Nice job!

Competing.

Thank you for all the work that you did for the Tournament. The girls thoroughly enjoyed it - they were very apprehensive & worried about competing in front of lots of people but they're both really glad they did.

Nick Metcalfe Award.

Thank you for yesterday’s Tournament. My son did fabulously well & was very shocked but honoured to be awarded the Nick Metcalfe Award, which is proudly placed in our living room. The day was again run smoothly & it was great to see him in action.

Special Educational Needs.

My son has been attending Samurai Kickboxing classes for just over a year. He has special educational needs which are not immediately apparent. He has struggled to engage with peer activities & particularly sports in the past. The Samurai Team have been very welcoming & engaging with him. Whilst he finds the classes challenging, he has progressed & his confidence & skills have grown. I am very grateful for Samurai's inclusivity & patience.

Lovely Atmosphere.

I just wanted to say thank you for a great Tournament. So proud of my son winning a bronze medal! It was such a lovely atmosphere with everyone supporting each other & really working hard to do their best. So thank you to everyone who helped organise it. I hope you'll do it again.

Children Shine.

I have personally seen children shine by the end of the lesson who were reserved in themselves, with no self confidence at the beginning of the class. If anyone has any doubts if kickboxing is right for their child, do one free trial class & be prepared to be amazed how much they enjoy it & the change it can bring.

Belief & Support.

1 year ago there was no chance my daughter would have wanted to do the Annual Tournament, she lacked confidence in her own ability. With the belief & support from the Instructors, not only did she want to compete, she came away with medals & a massive smile on her face! You know how sometimes in life you just by chance meet an amazing person? Matt is one of my family's chance finds. He's kind, fun, patient, courteous, caring & quite simply a great role model. Matt & his team have had an incredibly positive impact on our son's confidence personally not just as a kickboxer.

My son has enjoyed every experience he has had with Samurai over the years. From being very nervous at his 1st holiday camp to attending weekly classes at school & online over the pandemic, he has now grown in confidence & skill. He enjoys his weekly classes & sparring sessions & can't wait for the next holiday camp. All the Instructors are fantastic!

My boys have been Kickboxing with Samurai for nearly 5 years. The lessons are always pitched really well for their different abilities & they've made great progress each year. Fitness, discipline, core strength have all massively improved & more importantly, they love going.

Matt & his team are just amazing! They are inspirational & my 8 year old daughter (who has been taking classes since she was 4) wants to be an Instructor when she grows up! Thank you so much for setting up the online lessons so quickly during lockdown. It’s really helped the boys. Alex, Mike & Kelly are the 5th, 6th & 7th most seen people by our family at the moment… them & Joe Wicks!

I want to thank you for your commitment, dedication & effort throughout the past year. It has not gone unnoticed all the work you have done to keep Samurai Kickboxing going through COVID. Watching your energy to keep our children’s enthusiasm going via video link has been commendable. You have far excelled anything else we have been offered for our children & you have helped not only in their fitness & skills building but also in bringing structure to their endless weeks at home. This has been invaluable.

Routine & Normality.

I’d like to express my utmost thanks to the team for all their time & effort in providing Zoom classes throughout the lockdown period. My son engaged with all the Instructors & enjoyed having access to multiple sessions each week. He ended each session feeling buoyant & keen to show me his skills. My thanks also for providing classes during the half term break. It really provided a sense of routine & normality in what has otherwise been a very strange year.

I would like to commend you on all of the communication you have sent to your students during Covid & the very fast pace at which you quickly adapted to online sessions to ensure none of your students missed out.

Please thank the Instructor for the taster session class. He is a great teacher & has a really good approach with learners. My son loved it & is really keen even to do the grading element which he normally isn't confident to do.

I just want to say how impressed I am with your Instructors dealing with a new student’s difficult behaviour & lack of discipline. They have persevered with kind firmness & there’s been a huge improvement in the child's behaviour & participation in class. It’s been so heartening to see them not giving up on him & having the skill to not let his behaviour have a detrimental effect on the rest of the class. That takes some skilful teaching & shows their genuine love for the children & their work. I just wanted to let you know that you’re doing a great job!

Great Experience.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to the Instructors for the sessions this week. The boys have really enjoyed them & it's been great to have something active for them to do during half term! They always enjoy their kickboxing but seeing them so animated about what they've done this week has been really lovely. As always the Instructors have been engaging & worked so hard to give them a great experience.
